Tennessee is now vaccinating residents in Phase 1a1, 1a2 and 1b populations and those age 65 and older. Tennesseans can visit Vaccinate.tn.gov to book their appointment when they are eligible to receive vaccine. As of today, more than 200,000 appointments are available in the system for COVID-19 vaccination across the state.

Tennessee will open COVID-19 vaccination eligibility to Tennesseans in Phase 1c populations on March 8. Phase 1c of Tennessee’s COVID-19 Vaccination Plan includes people with high-risk health conditions including pregnancy, and parents and caregivers of children with high-risk health conditions. Tennesseans may find vaccination providers in their area by visiting VaccineFinder.org.

The Tennessee Department of Health announced state-specific visitation restrictions for long-term care facilities will end effective February 28, 2021. Facilities should use the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services guidance for safe operation and visitation with limited visitation restrictions no longer in place at the state level.

This week, TDH launched a new online scheduling tool for COVID-19 vaccination appointments. This site allows users to book their appointment at participating health department sites when they are eligible. Tennesseans can access the system at Vaccinate.tn.gov, enter their demographic information and choose a date and time for their vaccination appointment. Beginning next Monday, February 22, Tennesseans aged 65 and older and those in Phase 1b (includes K-12 teachers) are eligible for vaccination.

Thursday, July 23, 2020

Governor Bill Lee announced today the State will launch a public service announcement campaign that urges all Tennesseans to fight against the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask. The ad campaign, titled “Face It. Masks Fight COVID-19”, will run on broadcast and cable television, digital, social media, print, and billboards statewide. You can view the video here.

Governor Bill Lee signed Executive Order No. 54 to grant county mayors in 89 counties the authority to issue local mask requirements in the event of a significant rise in COVID-19 cases.

Monday, June 29, 2020

Governor Bill Lee today signed Executive Order No. 50 to extend the State of Emergency related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to August 29, 2020. The order allows the continued suspension of various laws and regulations and other measures in these orders to facilitate the treatment and containment of COVID-19 through regulatory flexibility, promoting social distancing and avoidance of large gatherings, and protecting vulnerable populations. 

Gov. Lee also signed Executive Order No. 51 and Execitive Order No. 52, which extend provisions that allow for electronic government meetings subject to transparency safeguards and remote notarization and witnessing of documents, respectively, to August 29, 2020.

Governor Bill Lee issued Executive Order No. 38, allowing groups of up to 50 people to participate in social and recreational activities while encouraging strong social distancing measures.

Wednesday, May 20, 2020

The Economic Recovery Group issued updated guidance for restaurants and retail, along with new guidelines that enable attractions and larger venues to reopen with social distancing and capacity restrictions on or after May 22.

Today, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed Executive Order No. 36 and No. 37, extending the state of emergency declaration from May 18, 2020 to June 30, 2020, in order to extend certain provisions facilitating the State’s continued response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, Governor Bill Lee issued Executive Order No. 34 extending Executive Order No. 16 to allow for government bodies to hold meetings remotely until June 30. He also issued Executive Order No. 35, amending Executive Order No. 30 to allow for the reopening of small group, non-contact entertainment, and recreational venues.

Today, Governor Lee issued Executive Order No. 33, amending Executive Order No. 30 to allow the safe reopening of close contact services.

Tennessee’s Economic Recovery Group released guidance for close contact services today. This guidance applies to personal services including barbershops, hair salons, waxing salons, nail spas, massage therapy services and substantially similar businesses that require prolonged close contact with customers. Governor Bill Lee signed Executive Order No. 31 to extend the prohibition of non-emergency dental services to Wednesday, May 6.

Governor Bill Lee signed Executive Order No. 30 which supersedes and repeals Executive Order Nos. 17, 21, 22, 23, 27, and 29, effective Wednesday, April 29, but does not affect Executive Order No. 25 concerning dental and medical procedures, which is currently effective until April 30.

Tennessee’s Economic Recovery Group announced guidance today for gyms and exercise facilities on how to reopen safely. Gyms will be allowed to reopen in 89 of the state’s 95 counties beginning Friday, May 1. For more guidance on exercise facilities, you can view them here

Mayor Beasley published a letter stating that the City of Milan will be following all of Governor Lee's re-opening guidelines put forth in Executive Order No. 29. You can view Mayor Beasley's letter here. As stated in his letter, Milan City Park is planning to start their reopening phase this week, beginning Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Amenities that will be available for groups of 10 people or less will be: walking trails, disc golf, dog park, athletic fields, pond and RC track. Amenities that will be available for single play only will be the tennis and pickleball courts, and all open areas. 

Last week, Governor Lee announced that Tennessee restaurants are able to reopen today, April 27, 2020, at 50% occupancy. Additionally, Tennessee retailers are able to reopen on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 50% occupancy. Governor Bill Lee announced that schools will remain closed through the end of the school year. For more information from the Milan Special School District, please visit their Facebook page.  

Governor Lee expanded the testing efforts that will begin over the weekend. April 18-19 with the Tennessee National Guard establishing 15 drive-through testing sites across the state. Drive-through testing sites will also be available during the weekends of April 25-26 and May 2-3. For a full list of locations, please click here

Yesterday, Governor Bill Lee signed Executive Order 23 ordering all residents of TN to stay at home, unless conducting essential activity. Today, Mayor Beasley released a statement that Milan's State of Emergency is still in place. Milan Police Department will be monitoring gatherings and enforcing social distancing guidelines.

Milan Public Works has requested that all residents be mindful of how much debris they are putting at the curb for the clawtruck service. We are still abiding by our current policies which can be found on their page. Waste Management requests that all trash be BAGGED and SEALED before setting at the curb for pickup.

City of Milan officials announced that ALL Milan City Park amenities are CLOSED to the public until further notice. The walking trail will remain open as long as citizens continue to following the social distancing guidelines. You can view Mayor Beasley's announcement here

Milan Police Department postponed Driver's Safety School to April 6, 2020.

All Traffic Court cases set for March 18, 2020 have been rescheduled to April 1, 2020

All General Sessions cases set for March 25, 2020 have been rescheduled to April 8, 2020 EXCEPT to have your driver's license reinstated, for status on court costs or if you have hired an attorney to represent you. Please call 731-686-0985 for more information. 

Mildred G. Fields Memorial Library suspended all operations to the public. All of their online resources are still available, click here for those. 

Milan Senior Citizens Building suspended all operations to the public. 

Milan Special School District closed schools until Friday, April 3, 2020.

Milan City Park postponed all organized activities, for both youth and adults. In addition, all pavilion rentals have been canceled or rescheduled to a new date in the future.
